Ben & Jerry's Founders Think Cannabis Ice Cream Makes Sense

In a recent interview with Huffington Post Live, ice cream legends Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield indicated they would be into a new flavor idea that combines two pleasures: ice cream and cannabis.

Jerry went on record saying, "Ben and I have had previous experiences with substances," and have put their brand behind the idea with flavors like Satisfy My Bowl or Dave Matthews Band Magic Brownies Encore Edition. He went on to add, "I think legalizing marijuana is a wonderful thing, rather than putting people in jail for not hurting anyone."

Ben & Jerry's would consider selling a cannabis flavored edible marijuana ice cream on store shelves in the states where legalization has happened. However, although their names and faces are on the packaging, Ben and Jerry sold their brand to Unilever in 2001 giving up any decision making input. "It's not my decision. If it were my decision, I'd be doing it..." Jerry said.

We can only hope.
